"The Blue Place" is a well-paced crime novel with riveting action sequences and a complex lead character as messed up as she is righteous. It's the first in a series of three books featuring the noble but short-fused lesbian PI, Aud Torvingen. It's my favorite of the three books and has an excellent balance of plot twists and character development.
